Description: This is the glove that got HO onto the glove map. A Hybrid cut glove using a negative cut with the index and pinky fingers rolled (similar to the Nike Vapor) with an extended palm and internal latex made this a very innovative glove. You can certainly say this is HO's franchise style and without it they may not have made it to the level they are now at.
While these may have gotten HO onto the map, the red/white version of these gloves which I had were below par for me. The bandage wrist entry was tiny, the fit on the backhand was awkward and boxy, and the grip wasn't anything special. Just my personal view but I'm going to have to say no.
I was never impressed with the HO MGC, I found them to be ill-fitting, lacking in durability, and mediocre at best when it came to grip and feel. Overrated in my opinion.
I have a pair I use as my back up pair now and they are great. Have some serious trouble getting in and out of them as I feel the entry needs sorting out with the tiny bandage and extended wrist combining to make it hard to get them on. I need help to put them on! Once on though, fantastic glove.
So gonna give them some thought first as I felt HO's first Kontakt glove was the glove that got HO into the market. Especially here in the UK.
Had a pair of these and they were cracking. Yes from me, despite the spelling mistake ('confort' instead of 'comfort').
It wasn't a spelling mistake. Remember that HO is a Spanish company. It comes from the verb 'confortar'.
An MGC with a tunnel strap would be a big improvement, but it is a unique glove without a doubt. Negative cut, internal latex & wrapped index & little finger make it a yes in my book.
i remember walking into football Mad in cardiff years ago (01/02?) and seeing these for the first time. I was mesmorised by how many features were included in the glove. SURROUND CUT, WRAP INDEX, EXTENDED PALM and INTERNAL LATEX. It really was an all singing all dancing glove with excellent grip and comfort. Also negative cut gloves (bundesliga excepted) werent as mainstream back then. So i vote yes as these gloves raised the bar slightly and the other more established brands started to offer more choice after the initial success of this particular glove.

Mate, 'maximum grip confort' isn't Spanish. Not that it matters.
Thinking about it, the thing I liked about these (apart from the superb grip and construction) was that they felt really substantial on your hands. I don't normally get on with neg cut because they don't offer enough cushioning/protection. With these, your fingers feel well and truly encased, whilst still giving feel for the ball.
i have to vote yes for these. i had tried a couple of other models from HO before these and to be honest they were poor. I grabbed an all white pair of these from Jimmy along with a pair of Kontakts. both were superb, but the kontakt was really just another standard roll finger (allbeit a very good one) the MGC had a different cut and great fit. it also still remians the only duo glove i have found to be more comfortable than the reusch duo models. once dampened it has supers grip too.
i totally agree that it needed a standard bandage wrist strap, but for fit, feel, grip as well as being a great introduction to an emerging brand, they were fantastic.

They used "Spanglish". I agree it looks like a spelling mistake if you don't know the language. They probably didn't like how it sounded in all spanish.
I wore a few versions of this glove and while I agree the strap could have been better the grip was fantastic. I remember playing in a total deluge in LA and the ball never felt like it would slip out. This glove wasn't for everyone but it definately got people talking about HO and that in itself is why I nominated it.

I remember that Rich. It seems like a long, long time ago now.
There were actually a few different colourway of the MGC's floating around back then. One of the goalkeepers I sponsored during the old Austtralian National League absolutly loved the fluro ones and could not get enough of them.
I voted yes as the were/are such a unique glove and have many good features that work.

Jimmy, are those fluo ones still available? I love anything that's fluo, let alone keeper gloves
