Recently while looking round my local Sport and Soccer store in Croydon, I found 2 pairs of Sondico Aquabloc for £5 a pair. I thought for the money I can't go wrong and I was right!!

I played my first game on Saturday in nearly 7 month's in what must be said as near like monsoon conditions. I had pulled my trust Selsport Aqua Wide cuts out to find the grip although still looking good had gone!

I kept these Sondico's in the bag and thought I might as well give them a go!! They were amazing, the grip without any preperation was excellent. the ball felt so secure.

If you have a Sport and Soccer get down there, for the money you can't go wrong !!!!

I recently found a nice cheap pair of Sondico's. But found the grip had gone really hard and no matter how well I pre washed them I could not change it. Shame as they were very comfy and I got them for £4!

Croydon? Where I live is near Croydon in london. Which Croydon do you mean? Would be great to have another TGBer near me!

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

are they the model with the black fleece backhand? they were an awesome glove in all weathers. great fit and very warm too. i swithced from the uhlsport windbreaker with intrel backhand to the sondico's, and the sondico's were way better in terms of grip.

I was so suprised how good they were!!

Yes they are the fleece ones, remind me of the old Reusch Wind stoppers in the first Just Keepers catalogue which I also had, about 8-10 years ago!!

I'm always find old gloves in mint condition.

the backhand fleece is identical to the first adidas thermofit, as worn by Bosnich when he was at Villa. that was an awesome glove too. That for me is the big shame about Sondico at that time they had three or four fantastic flat palm gloves. they next season they added a couple of brilliant roll finger models too. then it all went badly wrong. SRG and SMG were both superb in the horrible cold, wet and muddy UK conditions. they also had a very nice fitting roll index glove at that time, as worn by Freidel when he was at liverpool.

I think others have eluded to the fact they were bought and sold several times in the past 10 years or so.  One thing you have to say for Reusch, Uhlsport, is they stay fairly consistant in their management, and ownership (especially international)..WIthout that consistencey, companies falter.  They lose R&D budgets, marketing, and salesforce after each sale, and probably most of their knowledge.  Hard to compete when there is constant turnover at a brand.

If you are passing the stores that you found the Sondico's could you please nip in and see if there are any left in size 9.5 or 10.
If you could purchase 2 pairs for me i will reimburse you straightaway including postage costs.

Sorry if this is going off on a tangent but this forum reminded me of the first time I ever encountered the now standard bandage wrist. We got booked by Nike to do photographs of their first Rangers kit at Ibrox in around 97/98 (I'm a photographer). Goram and Gascoigne were a bit 'difficult' to work with and at some stage I must have mentioned I was a sunday league goalie. At the end of the shoot Goram very kindly gave me his gloves - all white with the big black 'Sondico' down the first two fingers and a very strange looking tubigrip style closure. TheRangers kitman then gave me another pair after the players had left. Interestingly, one pair was about a 9.5 while the other was at least a size bigger. For reasons I can't quite remember I gave both pairs away some time later - probably to Scots.
