i know what your saying but i had a thing about the d30 before they came out and brought a pair but they were too small and never looked at the as i saw the wraps and evo's. The d30's negative are 35 quid and the roll fingers i can get for 32.00 so not a lot og difference so what would people suggest for me? a change or not?
thanks
I would tend to agree with you PocketSchmeichel. The minimum amount of latex is maybe the thing that is putting me off buying neg cut gloves. Somehow they look as if there is not enough latex in "contact" with the ball.
Justin, I think you have far too many gloves for one guy! I think you should send some over to me ha ha. Seriously, thanks for the great info mate.
The negative cut with latex gussets is the ideal glove in my view and every rollfinger enthusiast should try them at least once. Then again, can't think of a single EPL keeper who wears 'em.
i really don't know what to do lol? it sounds silly but i love roll finger but fancy the negative cut's. i think they must suit certain weather conditions though because if you were to use NC in muddy conditions then i can only immagine you would have hardly any grip where as roll finger gloves have more latex, therefor mre of a latex contact with the ball? might be wrong lol?
Luke29's spot on - Cech wears them and I'm sure he wore rollfingers way back. If they're good enough for him...
indeed, however he doesn't play on park pitches or semi-pro grounds lol, and he gets the best latex available
cheers
PocketSchmeichel: I think there's a cut that combines the best of both worlds. It has latex on every surface like the rollfinger combined with the more flexible and snug fit of the negative cut. Is it called a half-negative? FS Sport made me a few pairs of this design a couple of years back with a duo-grip and Reusch have used the same spec in the past and continue to with the current Duo Bundesliga. It was almost perfect for me. The problem with the full negative - like Van der Sar's Adidas - is you have the minimum amount of latex available and I just don't see how that can be a good thing.

Actually those would be considered a full negative cut, as the thumb is negative as well.

Shay Given comes immediately to mind, and Van der Sar wears negative as well, or were you referring to one particular model?
i think im going to stick with what i no im happy with the roll finger and its not a bad price really.....
hope they are worth the money though sells haven't let me down yet though.
do they come correct to size? i am a 9.
David James also wears the black HO's in negative cut, and Kuszack wears the Puma neg cuts.
Yep, forgot about David James wearing negative cut now!
Is VDS with latex guessets?
jimmy what do you prefer negative or roll finger? pro's lets face it can wear what ever they like because they are playing on the finest pitches in the world with leading goalkeeping latex's on their hands ad as long as they are comfy they will wear them. or thats my view........
Now you've reminded me I can think of a few wearing negative cuts! I specifically meant the latex gusset version like Cech as opposed to the latex-lite ones Van der Sar wears. Funny how long it took to catch on in England when German keepers always seemed to have a thing for it like with the early Reusch Bundesligas. I wonder how much a factor personal preference is for a pro GK as opposed to whichever model the company paying them wants to promote.
You'd be surprized at how many pros wear SMU gloves with simple SS latex versus the latest and greatest.
