REVIEW

My first review so hope this all makes sense and apologies if the layout is not correct!

I have over the last year got into the habit of buying from the independent guys as I find the price of gloves these days very high. My experience so far has been mixed with some being good and other not so.

I had spoken to Bob at Warby on several occasions about what he felt made a good glove and the testing of his products, to be quite honest it almost got the point of being ridiculous the amount of questions I had asked him! He recommended the above so on Friday I ordered them, on Saturday morning they were sitting on my front mat!!!! When I took them out I thought the gloves looked very slim and was initially worried that they would not fit. I am usually a 9.5 to 10, I ordered the 10 due to no half sizes, and the fit was perfect. The layer of latex that lays over the wrist entry is not restrictive at all and once on the wrist is very secure but not to tight and although a Roll finger glove the fit is so good it almost feels like you are wearing a Negative cut glove.

Now I have not been playing recently due to an injury but got a call on Saturday to ask if I could play Sunday, so new gloves on board off I went. Now bearing in mind I had not played for several months the warm up had to provide me with some confidence. I had not had time to pre wash the gloves so it was just out of the packet and they were fantastic, the feel against the ball was like a second skin. As the warm up continued I noticed the gloves were getting more and more tacky, which I found strange as it was pouring with rain. I can honestly say the grip was among the best I have ever used. I was very busy all game and gloves never let me down!

The punch zone although I have to be honest at first I thought was gimmick does work. It is placed on the knuckles which if you punch the ball properly should have no part to play. However as Mark Schwarzer showed at the weekend we sometimes skim them off the knuckles, the punch zone is raised higher then the rest of the gloves, so if you don’t catch one just right you still get a good contact.

The gloves made me feel highly assured that I was wearing a quality product at a very affordable price!!

SUMMARY
There are always going to be die hard fans of Sells, Selsport and other mainstream manufactures. Do yourself a favour DITCH the badge snobbery and buy what I can safely say is one of the best gloves on the market in my opinion.

Pros
Fit
Very Good in the wet
PRICE

CONS
None for me

RATINGS (Out of 10)
Dry Grip: N/A
Wet Grip 9.25
Durability: 9.0
Fit: 9.5
Cushioning: 9.0
Value:  10.0 ( should be 100.0 )

Overall Rating:  I feel it’s unfair to give one as I have only worn them once and not in dry conditions but I will do an update in a few weeks.
Recommendation: Excellent value for money and great service.

I would just like to say a special thank you to Bob for answering all my questions and the excellent service he provided me with. I will be hard pushed to go else where in the future!!!

While TGB appreciates the review Dano, I think it better to do the review after at least 5 uses.  Just a suggestion.

A fair point. I will do an update before Xmas if I can.

I just felt it fair to give them a mention.

I was laughing here. For years I have suggested Sells, Selsport and HO Gloves (and now One on One Gloves{http://www.oneononesoccer.com/MarketingFlierCOLOR.pdf} for excatly the same reason. They are twice the glove for half the price of Nike, Puma, Adidas, etc. What a statement about where keeper gloveds are (and the business decisions regarding price points) to see that now the "value" gloves are considered the snob gloves by some.

BTW- We have the One on One Bayard Elfvin gloves for our HS program and our keepers were all very pleased with them. I wore them once at a training session but have not used them enough to provide a review.

Information on the Internet is subject to the same rules and regulations as conversation at a bar.

Like you said, there are no half sizes. I'm a perfect fit in a 9.5 Nike Vapor. Should I go up or down on these? If I get the two pair deal I might just get one of each.
