I would recommend the Adidas preds,

this may help you:

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

The best boots are the ones that fit YOUR FEET the best.

Don't be drawn into one brand or model just because it is recommended by someone else. You should go and try on a bunch of different styles and brands and decide what you feel most comfortable in.

In general though, I wouldn't spend less than $50 on boots (but not more than $100) because lower quality cleats may end up hurting your feet,. causing blisters etc.

Also keep in mind what kind of conditions you will be playing in. In the UK, the field tend to be wet and soft most of the time, so most keepers will wear spikes or soft ground cleats. But others play in really dry climates where spikes on hard ground aren't necessary and will hurt your feet.

I couldn't agree more with you shotblocker. It took me years to find a pair that I was comfortable in and alas, they have fallen apart :-(

It is all about trial and error, but the downside is that you never really know unless you play in them (it has cost me$$$$ in the past and now retirement if here).

That is a very general statement, and I doubt it is accurate. Most means the majority, and I do not think that is true.  There is no "Magic Boot" for a keeper.  It either fits and you like it, or it does not.  Do not be fooled by predator gimics.  If it REALLY provided more power and swerve, every outfield player would want them.  Nothing compares to technique, especially gimics and marketing.  Buy what fits best.

That's not true. Also, bear in mind that many teams/individuals are sponsored by major brands and usually the cleats they wear as well as the gloves they use have to do with the endorsement deals that the team or the individual player have in place.

It's also worth stating the the professional teams often have very different studs that aren't available in the commercial version of the shoe.  It seems like a great deal of the equipment most teams have is custom made for the team/player.

I don't think any of those players got to where they are because they bought the same shoe/glove/whatever model as their favorite goalkeeper.  They got to the top by practicing, working hard, their inherent skill, and most likely a bit of luck.

I have EE or EEE width feet. I bought a pair of Adidas Bracara for $29.99 to wear for coaching and they are far and away the nost comfortable soccer boot I have ever worn. The performance is adequate, but for the price, how can you go wrong for a hard/medium ground boot.

I don't use them heavily, so durability coul dbe an issue.

Most MLS Keepers wear predators and that's only because of the league.  Footwear is not unlike your gloves.  You should wear what fits you best and can help you.  You're in Cali so I wouldn't recommed screw ins as you are not likely to see pitches that are good enough for 6 bangers.  Best thing you can do is go to your local shop and try on several pairs/brands.

 Couldn't agree more.

Just returned using them after a few years trying others but dont know why i strayed really.

Will be investing in the copa convertions when i need SG boots for sure.

My last pair of copas lasted 6 years!

For a long time I've been a World Cup/Copa guy (occaisionally Puma King or if I was being wild and wacky-Nike Tiempo;old style Floppy tongue!)but I would like to take the opportunity to sing the praises of the new Total Ninety lasers-great cushioning,I like the ball control device and I love the black/neon colourway;it takes me back to the Air Rio in the nineties and going further back to the eighties- the Air Strike(Tim Flowers,Ian 'Big Nose' Rush at Juventus,Waddle and Hoddle)
