How about making a list of who wears what at Euro 2008.  Didn't someone do this for the World Cup?  I'm afraid I am rubbish at spotting gloves so I can't start the ball roling.

Any glove spotters out there fancy giving it a go?

KeeperSport do this every tournament : http://www.keepersport.at/Euro-2008-UEbersicht.920.0.html

Please note that they display the retail version of the gloves, not the actual SMU's the pro's are actually wearing...

And glove geek of the week goes too.......Stick out tongueGeeked

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

List seems pretty spot on. Although I would call lehmanns glove an SMU rather than the CC model. He has a flat palm but with the pinky finger rolled like the Vapor Grip.

Yes, rich has been doing a great job of this.

almunia, nice job as well, tho you got the first one wrong! Jurgen Macho got the nod ahead of Zuberbuhler for Switzerland.

Buffon's Puma's look like they are V-Pros or V-Konstructs(no finger protection) with V-1.08 trick graphics. Benaglio started ahead of Zuberbuhler for the Swiss and Macho ahead of Manninger for the Austrians.

are the addidas guys wearing off the shelf latex or do their smu's have special latex too?  This is something I have never understood about addidas gloves.  I can't see the point of endorsees if they are not wearing comsumer latex.

thats something that a lot of companies keep under their hat.

there's no real way of knowing unless someone has inside info.

Some do, some do not.  I had heard that they send the endorsees the gloves with on the shelf latex first, and if they get no complaints, it stays that way.  If the endorsee does not like the retail latex, they hook them up with the enigmatic Profi SS.

That is usually the case.  Gloves and designs are sent to the keepers to review.  If they have worn a glove with a certain latex they will create the new glove with the same palm because that is what they want.

From a marketing point of veiw why does it matter if they don't wear the same palm?  Unless you're in the know, how can you tell what foam is on a glove as you watch it on TV?  As long as the glove looks the same (which is why back hands are important) then you will drive retail sales.
