Has anyone got any experience in removing the supportframe from gloves
I went through a phase of only buying finger protection gloves after i snapped a tendon on my index finger early last season
And now the finger has healed nicely i find protection a little restrictive
The gloves in question are Uhlsports Chimera aquasoft supportframe
Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially if I can acheive it without damaging the glove
Cheers for your time guys
Sorry gloves are Chimera Aquasoft Absorbframe and not supportframe
Cheers
Hi Andy-
This may not help, but I recently removed the palms from a pair of Chimera Supportframes, which gave me a chance to inspect the inside of the glove. For the Chimeras at least, there's really no way to remove the Supportframe without pretty much destroying the backhand - unless you have sewing skills, which I do not.
If you really like the gloves but want the frame out, maybe that's something Pimp My Gloves can do without harming the glove?
Cheers for your response Justin
Whilst watching my beloved Man City get turned over by a unknown Danish outfit and numerous inspections of the gloves I decided what the hell !
Out came the sharpest scissors in the house my swiss army knife and a pair of tweasers
I turned the gloves partially inside out and noticed a section of stiching which looked like the retaining stitch that kept the supportframe within the backhand
The stitching was quite easy to remove and 3 minutes later supportframe was out
Amazingly the back hand was not damaged as the frames are kind of sandwiched between the back hand and the internal membrane of the inside of the glove
Glove felt roomier but in a good way
With my confidence at fever pitch and my habidashery skills at melting point I grabbed another pair (Umbro XL DPS ) and removed another set
The cheapest way to aquire 2 pairs of new gloves
Respect !
Well done Andy! Glad to hear it came off without a hitch. Or a stitch.
