I was very excited to receive this. After spending some time with Simon in the UK last year and having watched his other DVD's, I like his style of coaching and his knowledge of and enthusiasm for goalkeeping.

Lots of plyometric, weights, speed and agility exercises inside and then incorporating these with more goalkeeping specific exercises out on the training pitch.
As with Simon's other DVD's, this is excellent viewing. Gone are the days where the goalkeepers training is many, many gut wrenching up and down dills! This DVD shows a whole new way of training junior and senior goalkeepers and turning them into a "powerful, explosive athlete"
Well worth the money and as the DVD covers says "an essential part of any goalkeepers education".
Thanks for the review Jimmy, but I have some questions.
Can the majority of the exercises mentioned in the DVD be done alone (no partner/help)? Also, can you describe the "speed and agility" exercises (perhaps a clip), what do they consist of?
Yes alot of the excercises can be done alone wth no partner and/or special equipment..
As far as I know there is no clips available.

Sounds like a great dvd.I'm going to ask my club to purchase a few dvds and would like your opinion.Which set of dvds would you recommend the most?

I'm sure that they will pay for the Goalkeeping Fitness and think that I can get them to pay for one set of dvds.Would you take the other two Simon Smith dvds,the Alex Welsh set or the Masterclass set?I'm open minded and always look for fresh ideas.I work with U10-U19 with the majority in the U12-U17 range.I also work as the gk trainer and not the gk coach,although I would like to become involved in the coaching part with a couple of the keepers that I train.Thanks,Keith
The DVD's you mentioned are all good ones Keith but if you can see if you can find a copy of the David Coles "The Specialist" ... one of the best coaching DVD's available IMHO.
