REVIEW

Wanted to try these as it is and orginal design and a slight twist on the usual roll finger design. As soon as i received these and took them out of the packaging I was very impressed. The contruction is superb, and when i first tried them on, well the comfort is unreal, they feel really good on your hands.

Now i wasn't sure how much the 'fingertip' style would make a difference, but it does. It just makes the fit that much more snug on the hand.

I have used these now for 3 coaching sessions and training for myself once and i absolutley love them. When i trained in them myself i was extremely impressed with the latex. It feels like the Premium of Premium of SS latex's. I would go as far to say that the latex is better than Sells SS. I trained in fairly changable weather with it being dry and hard pitch but it did rain for about 10-15 mins and they performed superbly. Every thing just stuck, the best compliment i can give them is that i forgot they were on my hands and concentrated on my handling in the GK drills and my game in a 9 v 9. The last thing i want to do is worry that my gloves were performing or not, but i didn't have to with these.

DURABILITY

No real signs of wear as yet, but tiny little flake latex between index and middle finger. I usually get this with all roll finger gloves and is not the stitching coming loose. Not bad for 6 hours coaching and 2 hour training in which i have handled the ball A LOT.

SUMMARY

Fantastic gloves for the money and i would even possibly pay another £15 on top of the current price of £19.99 I am that impressed with them. Proof that you can produce and orginal design glove for under £20 that peforms suprebly. Bob has certainly put a lot of time and effort into these to get them right.

PROS

Superb Grip

Comfortable

Orginal design with fetaures that work.

Timeless all white look.

Excellent construction.

CONS

No half sizes as of yet.

yep these look + really sound goodCool.

Mac how would you rate them next to Pro-GK?

For me Pro-GK and One Glove are better than the Bigger companies gloves in that mid price range, so I am beginning to think you are paying for the name with mid range gloves of established firms.

I do feel it is very hard to top the Bigger companies on their top models, but again Pro-GK could be a £40.00 glove and very close.

Um the latex on Warby is slightly thicker (4mm as to Pro-Gk's 3mm), but in terms of grip there isn't much between them.

If you want a well contructed conventianal 3mm Roll Finger go for the Pro-GK's.

If you want something different and a slighlty thicker palm, but still well contructed go for the Warby's.

Both are excellent gloves and would wear either in a game dependant on how i felt.

Im more into the Warby's at the moment as they are something new and different and the features really do work.

i liked the feel of them when i tried them on, but thought they came up a tiny bit too large, especially on the wrist. i probably have quite skinny wrists but i had to do them up really tight to get a good fit.

 Hi mate,

If you read through the review i do mention sizing.

A 9 in these is like a 9 in Sells or Uhlsport, so they should be fine.

Does or will WARBY do protective clothing?

Trousers, 3/4's etc.

So are you not having any more of these manufactured at all??? Surely the demand of them would warrant more to be produced?

Sorry to disappoint you Sepp, but we decided all along to launch the Legend as a limited edition and therefore once they're gone there will be no more. It was a decision we took early on in the design process and the uniquness of the design has helped to confirm our decision (which has been reassuringly backed up by sales).

jordc1 - love the avatar! We intend to produce training wear but it will probably be unpadded. The feedback from the professionals and those that train on a regular basis is that padding is rarely worn (other than exceptional circumstances) so this has influenced the decision. However if there is sufficient consumer demand then we will obviously react to the market. Hope ths helps!

for many years i wanted unpadded trousers (as worn by many pro's like barthez and schmeichel) . padding is useful on very hard ground though. i have ended up taking padding out of many shirts and trousers in the past to make them more comfortable.
