I've just realised that I have only one pair of gloves available to wear in my game on Saturday, so I've hastily prewashed a pair of these.
Currently 2 for £40 on PDS http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-006-016-506&DEPT=6&BRAND=16
I actually paid just £10 for them in the J-K sale at the beginning of the summer, and felt pleased when I saw that Rob Elliott actually wears this model in matches for Charlton. Although out of the packet they feel a little sloppy and clearly need a good wash, the fit after they've been rinsed with water is beautiful. The glove feels very well made and comfortable, I can't wait to wear them tomorrow night at training.
I don't think you'll be disappointed in these, Rich. I love mine, and I know Chewie wore his in a downpour and said they were excellent even in those conditions. I also got mine in that JK sale - insane price for a quality glove.
its currently hammering down here, so i might wear them at training tonight even though they're still damp.
update time!
i wore these tonight in a game on a wet and muddy pitch. at one point it hammered with rain as well. they gripped very well, nothing spectacular but absolutely safe and reliable. the grip has taken a while to come through with these, but now that it has i am confident enough to use them in a game.
with my aqua wrappas also taking a wash, use and another wash before the grip came through properly, it seems a pattern with selsport. i now have three pairs - wrappa evolve, ultraflex and the aqua wrappa - and i've been very impressed with all three.
Funny you updated this today rich, as I have a game tonight and plan to wear mine. I still can't get over the value for money these offer, thanks to the great deal from JK.
I actually ordered a pair last week from PDS. Glad to see some good reviews. I liked them because they look lighter and a bit more breathable than most of Selsports main gloves which for me are really bulky.

I told you they may need another wash before they improved

i had a game last night as well so my vapor grips and aqua wrappas both got soaked. i only really resorted to these because they were the last clean/dry pair in my bag, and because i thought they deserved another go. i had 4 pairs with me tonight and wasn't feeling particularly confident but once i put those on i wasn't gonna take em off! perfect for the conditions, and didn't lose grip when they got dirty.
sb:
yeah they are a lot lighter than the very robust wrappa range. great summer glove. one of my other gloves is the wrappa evolve (30% of the backhand latex replaced with lightweight fabric) and i love them, shame they stopped making them.
ev:
spot on mate, they left the vapors trailing in my game on saturday in torrential rain. all they needed was another wash!
The only question I have about them is, would they be good in wet conditions in winter? That silky fabric of the thumb/body seems like it would get soaked and cling wetly to the hand. That's fine in summer but not so much when it's cold. As you say, great summer glove. I'll go back to the Phantom when the temperature drops.
I love the Ultraflex. I think it is my "go to" glove at the moment. I will be trying several of the new line, because of the Ultraflex's consistency and overall performance.
