 black 4mm supersoft grip

and 4mm aquatech latex

both £40 a pair or £70 for two pairs . it may sound odd, but i think the black version look a lot better than the HO JK smu all black glove. the serie a is superb and now you can have it with ss, x1 or aqua.....superb stuff. i have really grown to love the aquatech grip, just dampen them with hot water (same as ss but use hot not cold) and they grip fantastically well in all weathers.

In the new JK catalogue they have another serie a colourway with the same black backhand as the first picture but with a red G1 palm. And the same backhand but a green SS palm.

By the looks of it guys; coloured palms are going to be a bit of a trend this year. Those Aqua serie A's look great but I prefer an aqua to have a blue palm...don't know why I just think it looks better and just seems right.

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

That coming from the anti-black palm guy.Wink

One thing to note is that Black palms "appear" to wear better over time.  Look at any white palm after a game and it's dirty to some level.  You can't get any darker than black so they tend to look better longer.  The truth is they wear the same as another palm but appareance does go a long way.

I played my first game on the new generation of astro last week, and my gloves were black at the end of the game. Maybe the manafacturers are just trying to defeat this by making them black in the first place!

It's definately part of the thought process now that field turf is becoming more prevalent.

No wrapped thumbs?

It's small things that highlight to me that PDS are not goalkeeping specialists. They are a football boot retailer that has just expanded into another area without the thought and consideration that specialist retailers like Just Keepers, Between the Sticks and great-save would do.

Please do support the retailers that contribute to this community: great-save.com and betweenthesticks.com

To be fair..no Serie A III models have wrapped thumbs. They are "rolled" though which for me is enough.

How are they "rolled""?  They are a simple flat palm stich, nothing rolled about them regardless of reusch's description.

Have the serie A ever had a wrap thumb?  I honestly don't remember them if they did.  reusch took a while to use wrap thumbs on any of their gloves.

That's why I put "rolled" in quotation marks. You are right there is nothing special about them but my point is that despite lack of a true thumb wrap, they are supported by latex, so it's not true rolling but does offer support.

On that point, what do you call that? Some flat palm models had no latex on the backside of the thumb so it's not exactly a simple flat palm stitch then is it?

Not to get even more picky here, but what do you mean by "support"? I would grant that a latex-backed thumb feels a little more solid than one without latex, but I can't see it doing any actual good without a wrap / half-wrap.

On this topic, am I right in thinking Uhlsport still doesn't offer a single model with a wrapped/half wrapped thumb?

i never experienced any problems with the thumb cut on my pro aqua keepers. i completely agree that whilst it doesn't have a wrapped thumb, it really does not seem to need one. i LOVE half wrapped thumbs, but had exactly the same confidence when using my serie A's and pro aqua's as i had with my sells tgb smu. i guess, like many thing s in the glove world, it reall is down to opinions.

that being said, i think the main reason it is fine is that reusch have some of the best sized thumb cuts around. on many other manufacturers gloves it seems to me they use the same size thumb on 8.5 as on a 9, meaning those of us with smaller hands end up with baggy thumbs. sells, uhlsport and HO were three of the worst for this last season.

There are a lot of oldskool Reusch fans here, who are luke warm towards the recent lines.  I think these look more like Goalkeeper gloves, and reviews of the gloves mean I would consider it (when I get some cashHmm).

Niether Uhl or Reusch use wrap thumbs I believe, so PDS probably cant influence that to be fair.
