Has anyone seen or know anything about a Goalkeepers Fitness DVD ,partly featuring Simon Smith, alongside a guy called Paul Winsper.which Just Keeper are advertising in their 2008-09 catalogue? Apparently they are working with goalies of all ages and abilities.
I talked with Simon last year about this DVD. He sounded very excited about it. One of the things he commented was the lack of fitness of alot of keepers. Paul is the fitness coach for Toronto FC this year. The players are in way better shape than last year. They don't fade in the last 20 minutes of a game.
I emailed Simon earlier this week and the DVD is just going through the final stages of production. He was hopeful it would be only a couple more weeks.
This sounds like one of the best ideas with regards to goalkeeping in a long time. I will, without a shadow of a doubt be ordering this as soon as possible

Training was cancled tonight due to the horrific weather in Newcastle so i could not find out anymore information about the dvd from him ,
im excited for it also due to the fact that most of the filiming has been done at Team Northumbria Facilitys who i play for , so will be good for the club
also Paul Winsper is the fitness coach for Newcastle United , not sure if he is still there but he was when Simon was coach for Newcastle Senoir squad
This is a pretty interesting development, it would certainly prove useful.
Had training with Simon tonight and another keeper, asked him about the dvd , he said its ready , but waiting for the units to come from London, so should be next few weeks
everytime Simon comes to trainig he has a new pair of gloves !! we all get real jealous ha . anyway he to day he had a pair of them Keeper ID gloves from Just-keepers with his logo on , they are real nice and a very good copy of the Nike glove . might try them out .... should be interesting to see what he has on thursday
Received an email today from Simon. The DVD is on his website and ready to order.
