John Burridge, Hibernian, phoned to say that he had been contacted by Mr.Chris Jones, who said that he was the publicity manager for uhlsport, asking him to sign 2 pairs of gloves for use in 2 seperate competitions in 2 different Scottish newspapers, both claiming that they were the gloves used in the Skol Cup Final. He phoned me to see if they were genuine and I said that I believed they were although I had not had any personal contact or been officially informed. He then asked me for 2 pairs 036 size 9.5 (No.78), to replace the pairs he had been asked for.

David Spensley phoned to ask me to send some gloves to Gerry Gallagher, Eurone Management. xxx , for various goalkeepers. Paul Mathers, Dundee, 1 pair 036 size 8.5, 1 pair 040 size 8.5 (I pointed out that when he bought gloves from me he ordered size 9), Andy Murdoch, Partick, 1 pair 036 size 8.5, 1 pair 040 size 8.5 and John Martin, Airdrie, 1 pair 036 size 10, 1 pair 040 size 10 (No.79). I also told him about John Burridge checking with me about Mr.Chris Jones, and he said yes he did know about the proposed competitions. I pointed out that John Burridge was not under contract to uhlsport. He also asked about gloves for Gordon Marshall and I said my last contact was when he phoned me on 20th September and asked for goods that I could not supply, and I passed the request on to Line 7.

Michael Watt, Aberdeen, phoned to say that he had received my letter regarding the 043 no longer being available. He asked if there was anything similar to replace it and I said not at the moment, but I had not seen next season's range so did not know what was in that range. He then asked for 1 pair 019 size 9, 1 pair 036 size 9, 1 pair 073 size 9 and they were sent to him (No.80).

1st November 1991 2.20

David Spensley phoned to ask how many gloves I would normally send to a goalkeeper at a time, and I said usually I tried for 4 pairs but it always depended on who was asking and what they were asking for. He asked if Peter Shilton had recently had gloves from me, and I said none this season, and he then informed me that Peter had asked him for 14 pairs. I said I would certainly not send him that many at one go, if for no other reason than that I would not have that many gloves available, and I added that at the moment I was waiting for supplies of 036 size 9 from Germany, and I understood that Line 7 had no stock of this size. He knew they had no stock and told me that apparently France does not stock this model, which I found surprising especially as orders I had placed with Line 7 in England had been sent to me from France, including 036.

Alan Knight, Portsmouth, phoned for some goods and 2 pairs 036 size 9.5, 2 pairs 040 size 9.5 were sent to him (No.83). He also asked about the 578 trousers asked for about a month ago, and I told him that it had not been forgotten but as yet none were available.

I sent to Gordon Marshall, Celtic, 2 pairs 036 size 9.5 (No.85) as requested by David Spensley. He also asked me to send 2 pairs 019 size 9.5 but I said that I did not have any, Line 7 not having had any stocks for months of this item.

I received a letter from David Spensley, thanking me for my promotional work and confirming that he is making plans to take over the work as soon as possible.

I bought and sent to Jochen this weeks issues of "Shoot" and "Match".

6th November 1991 9.20

Marie phoned to ask if I had been asked to send gloves to, or know about Patterson and Keenan. I said that I assumed that they were the Northern Irish goalkeepers and I had no dealings with Keenan but Alan Patterson was a customer of Sukan Sports when a schoolboy in Ireland up to about 3 years ago, and when he came over to Queens Park Rangers he wrote to me requesting sponsorship. I had replied no but had offered special prices, although there has been no contact since. She asked me to send 1 pair 036 size 8.5 for Mr.Keenan to Stephen Baxter. Jenkins Promotions xxx (No.86). She also wanted a pair of 036 size 9 for Alan Patterson and I said that I did not have any, although I pointed out that when he was buying from Sukan Sports 3 years ago he was buying Reusch size 9.5, which are bigger than an uhlsport 9.5.
