John Burridge, Southampton, phoned to ask if any news on the German jerseys as he has still not received one. He also asked for a good pair of knee pads, as he is playing at Luton tomorrow on the all weather pitch.

Phoned Mr.Crabtree, Five-D-Togs, to see if any progress on clothing samples. He is still having his problems with work capacity and after looking into it, does not think that Spires Sports of Chesterfied are up to the work. Because of all this he thinks that it would be better to say that he cannot help, rather than say yes and then finds that he lets us down.

Mark Kendall, Wolves, phoned to request 2 pairs 021 size 8.5 (or nearest), to go to his home address xx . As 021 not in stock, I asked for 1 pair 084 and 1 pair 014.

The 26th December issue of "Shoot" had the competition offering 20 pairs of Air Safe shinguards as prizes.

David Felgate, Bolton, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 8 and 1 pair 573 trousers XL. He wants the gloves for Cup match v Barnsley on Januray 9th.

Found in 2 seperate boxes of 034 size 9 gloves in Sukan stock, a colour leaflet featuring some of the goalkeepers under contract to uhlsport (50 different photos including 3 English LUKIC, SHILTON, SPINK) along with specification details of their gloves and warnings that cannot guarantee gloves etc. I think that this is to be welcomed if it is to become the normal practice, and my suggestion over the years of a catalogue/magazine being available to sell the goods not available locally, could be the next stage. Do you know of any plans in this direction?

Jonathan Sheffield, Norwich 3rd team, phoned to request a XL Grey jersey with Black shoulders (? 518) and 1 pair 015 size 9.5, 1 pair 034 size 9.5. 1 pair 014 size 9.5. I informed him that I would pass his request on but there was likely to be a delay.

Christine Lawson. Top Sport. 129 Gorgie Rd., Edinburgh EH11 1TH, phoned to request the following goods for Henry Smith of Hearts. 3 pairs 096 size 9, 3 pairs 083 (or nearest) size 9. Apparently he picks his gloves up from this shop which is just across the road from the Hearts ground.

Dave Matthews, W.B.A., phoned to request 2 pairs 040 size 9 for Stuart Naylor. He has recently received both the 040 and 093, and prefers the 040. Mr.Matthews also asked if he could get gloves for other keepers at the club. I said that they could be purchased at trade price.

Alan Knight, Portsmouth, phoned to say that he had not received the gloves ordered with me on 14th December. He is now without gloves he said, I informed him that I would make enquiries.

Kevin Hitchcock, Mansfield, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 9.5. I asked him if he was under contract and he said NO, but had previously been told by both Eric Howes and Murray Nissen to phone up for gloves. He says that he has been getting free gloves for about 2 years. He needs gloves for this weekend and asked to be phoned on xx , with an answer. He appeared on the list of regularly receiving gloves but no contract. This is the first time that he has phoned me for gloves.

Ron Povey, Brighton, phoned to request gloves for his 3 keepers John Keeley, Perry Digweed (currently on loan to Newcastle) and Trevor Wood. 2 of these are size 9, the other size 9.5. He did not know the styles required, just said the same as previously. He thought that at least one of them had a red foam palm.

Chris Turner, Manchester United, phoned to say that he had still not received the goods ordered with me on 14th December, and he is now very desperate for gloves. Please could he now have in addition 2 pairs 034 size 8 and a Blue/Yellow glove bag.

Gerry Peyton, Bournemouth, phoned to request 2 pairs 093 size 10 to be sent to his home address xx . With the European Championships coming up, I asked him if he would mind signing a contract, just in case uhlsport wish to use his photo and name in their publicity, and he did not mind. We discussed Pat Bonner, Celtic and Eire first choice, who is under contract to Umbro, and Gerry said that he knew Pat much preferred the uhlsport clothing to Umbro, and that when they next meet he would pass on my phone number in case Pat Bonner was interested in uhlsport.

Phil Parkes phoned to request 1 pair 034 size 9.5 and 1 pair 015 size 9.5. Phil has let his fitness go a bit recently, but John Lyall has said that he is prepared to offer him another contract if he works a bit harder in training.

Kevin Poole, Middlesborough phoned to request 1 pair 034 size 8.5, 1 pair 084 size 8.5. I informed him that there was likely to be some delay as promotional goods are now coming direct from Germany.

Kevin Hitchcock, Mansfield, phoned to ask if there was any news on his request of 4th January. I informed him that his request had been passed on to the U.K. distributors, along with his home phone number, so they could inform him of the situation. As he had not heard, I said that I would chase the distributors.

Alan Smith, Southampton F.C., phoned to ask for captains armbands. He said that he had phoned Readers, as they had supplied them in the past when Southampton were in European competitions, but was told by Readers that he had to contact me. I said that I could not really help and that Readers themselves would be the people to contact.
