Phoned John Lukic, Arsenal. to try and find out details of his old contract. He said that it was for £xx first year, £xx second year, £xx third year (current season) and the total £xx was paid in full in one go at the start of the contract. Jim Stannard, Fulham, phoned to request some gloves size 9.5. He listed a variety of styles which are now discontinued like 039, 036, 041, 043, but did include 034 and 040. He therefore ordered 2 pairs of each style and 2 pairs of 573 XL trousers. I asked him if he was under contract, and he said yes, but he does not appear on any list you gave me. He said that he had been getting gloves for 5-6 years, usually getting 12-14 pairs at the start of the season. He said that at the start of this season he was sent 4-5 pairs. This was not done through me. Should you have any problems his home phone number is xx . If you send goods can he also have an up to date catalogue.
Saw a copy of the "Scottish Football Historian" No.35 Nov/Dec 1987. On the back page is details of the I.F.F.H.S. Best Goalkeeper of the Year, won by Jean- Marie Pfaff. This competition is organised by the German magazine "11" and sponsored by uhlsport. Were you given details of this award, and photos, for publicity purposes in the U.k.

Hans Segers phoned to say that he has still not received the goods ordered with me on 15th December to be sent c/o Sheffield United. I said that it had been passed on and I would chase it up. He has just started a third month's loan at Sheffield United and there is a chance it will become permanent but at the moment Nottingham Forest will not release him. He also asked for news of his money which he had spoken to Mark Wellbelove about.

I tried to explain the situation as well as I could, which is difficult without mentioning the agency situation, and goalkeepers who have been used to a system for 4-5 years find it difficult to understand why it has been changed without any really satisfactory explanation. I said that I would try to ring him back with an answer.

I asked him if he had received the goods that he had ordered at that time, and he said yes, and in turn asked if Carlisle had paid for them yet?

He was fairly angry and kept saying what a stupid situation it was, when I explained the system now in operation i.e. I pass on his request to Readers, who pass it on to Germany. I said that I would pass on his feelings and request for urgent action to Readers.
