Chris Turner, Manchester United, phoned to say that he has been getting "rubbish" recently. He was referring to the quality of service and quality of some of the clothing. He would like 585 Green XL jersey, 585 Grey XL jersey, 557 shorts XL 2 pairs, 554 XL trousers 2 pairs, 034 size 8 2 pairs, 099 size 9 2 pairs. He also wants 2 only 28" jerseys for his sons and news of one piece training suit ordered months ago through Eric Howes, and see my note of 14th December.

Sammy Chung, Stoke City, phoned to request 2 pairs 040 size 9 for Scott Barrett. He also wants, and will pay trade prices for 2 pairs 040 size 8.5, 2 pairs 040 szie 9.

Mark Prudhoe, Carlisle, phoned to request 1 only Shilton jersey Gey 42" and a pair of 034 size 8 (if no 034 will accept 040 or 096). As previously agreed he is to be charged trade prices for these goods. When I phoned Danielle with this information on 2nd February at 9.30 she said that Readers had received a letter from Carlisle saying that there was an agreement between Harry Gregg and Murray Nissen for goods to be free of charge. It will be passed to Mark Wellbelove for his decision.

2nd February 1988 12.15

Mervyn Cawston, Maidstone United, phoned to request 2 pairs size 10 smooth foam gloves. He said that there was an agreement between the club and Readers for free supply of goods. I said that neither he or the club were on the list of contracted people. I said that I would pass on his request to Readers. He wants the gloves sent to him at xx Tel: xx . If not being supplied, please phone him. Phoned to Danielle 2nd February.

Mel Rees, Watford, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 9, which were posted to him today (No.11). He also asked about a tracksuit, but I said that I did not think that it would be possible as tracksuits are not sold in the U.K. His current home address is xx Tel: xx .

Mark Wellbelove phoned to ask me to send 2 pairs 034 size 8.5 to Paul Malcolm of Barnsley reserves. The original verbal agreement to supply was made by Murray Nissen. The gloves were posted today (No.15).

Kevin Hitchcock, Mansfield, phoned to see if uhlsport were interested in putting him under contract. He said that he had refused a new contract with Mansfield, and that it was reported that several First Division clubs were interested in signing him. I informed him that it was not my decision, and at the moment because of the change in distributors it was probably not possible to give him a quick answer. However, I would pass the request on and contact him again when there was an answer.

Jonothan Sheffield, Norwich, phoned to see if there was any news of a jersey and gloves. I informed him that there were no Sperrin Textiles jerseys available at the moment, and any other jersey would upset Norwich's kit sponsors, Scoreline.

Kevin Carr, Hartlepool, phoned to request some gloves to home address xx . I informed him of the change in distributors from April 1st, 1 pair 084 size 8.5 were posted 4th February (No.17).

Graham Benstead, Norwich, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 8.5 and a glove bag. I posted them to him on 4th February (No.20), with the glove bag coming from Sukan stock. He also asked for a tracksuit Blue XL (he has seen Bryan Gunn wearing one), but I said that they were not stocked in England and that I did not think they were available, but I would ask for him.

Roger Hansbury, Birmingham, phoned to thank me for the goods, and I asked him if the gloves were correct. He said that they were a bit tight so it was agreed that I would send him size 9.5 (No.23) and he would return the size 9's. The 9's were received back on 6th February.

I RECEIVED A DELIVERY OF FREE OF CHARGE GOODS FROM UHLSPORT ON 30th January and 3rd February 1988.
