I said that he could have free of charge another pair 015 size 9, sent to him (No.83), but after that he would have to buy his goods for a reduced price, i.e. the 015 would be about £19-£20. He said that he would do this as he was grateful for uhlsport's help in the past and he likes the gloves, and even though Sondico have written to him offering free gloves.

She also asked about him doing modelling work for leisure/sports clothing for Calder Spear, possibly including tracksuits. I said that I would check with uhlsport.

I phoned Axel regarding Henry Smith, and it was agreed that he could do the modelling work but should be reminded that he should wear uhlsport gloves whenever appropriate. I also asked for another 453 Yellow one piece suit for John Burridge, as the one that should have been sent turned out to be a 543 Yellow XL jersey. This jersey is 1 of the 2 sent to Henry Smith.

I asked him if he would mind signing a contract for free of charge goods, and therefore sent him 2 contracts, 1 to keep the other to sign and return. I also asked him if he could try and remember to wear the gloves in next seasons team photos, and queried whether Spall might let him wear uhlsport jerseys. He said that next season Blackburn were changing from Spall to a local company from Wigan, Elgin, who are not known to me, and he would ask the club if he could wear uhlsport. Andy Goram, Hibernian, phoned in response to my letter of 29th March. He asked for 2 pairs 040 size 9.5 and they were sent to him (No.93). He also asked about getting other items, including the 1 piece overall, and I said that he should ask me for them and that this suit would be available next season. He says that previously he has got his gloves from Mike Richardson of Romida Sports, a sports shop in Oldham, where he played before his transfer to Hibernian. I informed him that since August 1st 1987 he should have been getting them through me.

David Matthews, W.B.A., phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 9,5 for their reserve goalkeeper. He is Gary Leake who has been buying his gloves at normal retail price from Sukan Sports. I said that the new system of reduced prices was available and the gloves could be supplied on this basis. As we have not yet sorted out the system I will take the money for both pairs of reduced price 015 for Sukan, and Sukan will give 1 pair of gloves, with the other pair coming from the uhlsport free of charge stock. This basically means that Sukan has sold 1 pair of 015, and uhlsport have given 1 pair of 015 to a professional, 2nd Division reserve.

Tony Norman, Huill, phoned to request 1 pair 040 size 9.5, 1 pair 015 size 9, 1 pair 093 size 9 and they were sent along with a white/black glove bag on (No.95). I congratulated him on again being selected in the Wales squad, and he said that was one of the reasons he was needing more gloves. He does not have a contract, so I said that I would send him one, and hopefully he would find it acceptable, sign it and return it to me. In a letter to him I also asked about the possibility of him wearing a uhlsport jersey in matches, this season Hull have been wearing Admiral.
