Jill of Line 7 phoned regarding Steve Sherwood of Grimsby, as they had been contacted by a shop saying that he was under contract. I informed her that he was not under contract, although in the past he had received free gloves. I had stopped this for the 1988/89 season, although as Grimsby wear Scoreline kit he had received 5 pairs free of charge at the start of the season.

Terry Gennoe, Blackburn, phoned to request 1 only 544 Silver XL, 2 pairs 096 size 9 and they were sent to him (No.80).

Les Fridge, St.Mirren, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 9, 1 pair 034 size 9, 1 544 Sky XL, 1 pair 554 trousers XL and they were sent to him (No.81).

I bought and sent to Reinhard this weeks issues of "Shoot" and "Match".

I received the Bournemouth Trade Show invitations from Claude. I phoned Jill for the Line 7 stand number so that it could be put on the invitations, but she did not know. I therefore phoned the B.I.C. to find out that it was W 24.

The wife of Dundee goalkeeper Tom Carson, phoned to say that her husband had signed an uhlsport contract and could he have some gloves. He wanted 036 and 083 in size 8.5 and I pointed out that the 036 was a new model which I did not have yet and the 083 is not a model stocked by the U.K. agents. I said that I could spare a pair from my stock but not the 6 pairs that he was asking for. I said that I would send details of what gloves are available for promotional stock along with what I could spare. A letter and 1 pair 083 size 8.5, 1 pair 093 size 8.5, 1 pair 015 size 8.5, 1 pair 040 size 8.5 were sent to him (No.82), to his home address xxx Tel: xx .

Peter Fox, Stoke, phoned to ask for some gloves and 2 pairs 040 size 9 were sent to him (No.83). He also asked for some size 8.5 for a young goalkeeper at the club and I said that these would have to be paid for as previously. He said he would not order them for now.

Tony Norman, Sunderland, phoned to request 2 pairs 040 size 9.5, 2 pairs 015 size 9.5, 1 cap and they were sent to him (No.84).

I bought and sent to Reinhard this weeks issues of "Shoot" and "Match".

Reinhard phoned to see if I had spoken to Erik Thorstvedt of Tottenham, but I said that I had never spoken to him, only written to him on 17th December to introduce myself and give my name, address, phone number if he needed goods. I did confirm that recently he has been wearing uhlsport gloves, a smooth white foam palm with the back like 034 and his own name on the velcro strap. I asked about Theo Snelders at Aberdeen and Reinhard had agreed to pay £xx for season 1988-89, until July 1989. About April or May they will talk again about the future.

Roger Hansbury, Birmingham, phoned to request 2 pairs 034 size 9.5, and they were sent to him (No.85).

13th March 1989

Having seen Gerry Peyton, Bournemouth, at the Bournemouth Sports Trade Show I sent to him 1 pair 093 size 9.5, 1 pair 083 size 10, 1 007 Holdall, 1 543 Yellow XL (No.86). I also wrote to him confirming that I had ordered from Germany 2 pairs 036 size 10, 1 pair 578 trousers XL, 1 pair 566 shorts XL, 1 only 406 tracksuit XL, 1 only 543 Yellow XL without any number on the back.

Roger Freestone, Chelsea, collected the following goods, 2 pairs 040 size 9.5, 2 pairs 083 size 9.5, 1 only 544 Green XL, 1 pair 554 trousers XL (No.87).

Stuart Naylor, W.B.A., phoned to request 3 pairs 040 size 9 and they were sent to him (No.88).

Alistair Garvie phoned regarding his previous call on 24th February and my letter of the same date. He said that Mark Kendall of Wolves knew nothing about the Scoreline scheme and had only used 1 pair of the gloves sent to him as he was under contract to Sondico at the time. Scoreline had told me differently. Apparently the other gloves had been used by juniors at the club. I said that he could buy at the special prices but could not offer him any free gloves or contract.

Reinhard phoned to ask about Ian Rush's Sondico contract. I said that a temporary price list given out at Bournemouth shows his name on shinguards and footballs. I assume that the goods are for next season but I said that I would try to find out more details. He also asked about Chris Woods and I said that as far as I knew he was under contract for another 2 years or so which would take in the World Cup. His agent is John Mack, Reinhard had his card, and I said that I would try to find out more details. I also confirmed that Gerry Peyton was Ireland No.2 and that the first choice Pat Bonner of Celtic used Umbro.

John Burridge, Southampton, phoned to ask if I had any of the new gloves he had seen at Bournemouth, but I told him that I would not have any until about July, ready for next season.

Les Fridge, St.Mirren, phoned as his current goods only contract expired 25th February. I said that I had not discussed it with Germany, but felt sure that uhlsport would renew it. He is a youngster, just made his debut for Scotland Under 21 against France, and has been playing for the St. Mirren first team for the last 3 months.

I phoned Lucie Boxall of John Mack agency, regarding Chris Woods. She told me that his contract with Reusch was until the summer of 1991, and they would start looking at new contracts at the end of 1990. I asked if uhlsport could be contacted when they started to ask for offers for Chris Woods.

Nigel Spink, Aston Villa, phoned to request 2 pairs 015 size 10 and a jersey for his son. 1 only Shilton Grey 28/30" was sent to him with the gloves (No.89).
