Gerry Peyton, Bournemouth, phoned to ask for some gloves and 2 pairs 036 size 10, 2 pairs 015 size 10 were sent to him (No.97). I asked him about the tracksuit, trousers and he said that they had now arrived safely. I told him that Reinhard had spoken to Pat Bonner and had been told that his Umbro contract did not expire until August 1990, after the World Cup. He had however asked for some items of clothing and these had been sent to him from Gremany.

Alan Knight, Portsmouth, phoned to ask for some 036 gloves size 9.5, but I said that they were still not available. He asked if size 10 was available in this style, and I said no, but I said that as soon as the size 9.5's arrived I would send him 2 pairs.

Peter Shilton, Derby, phoned to say that one of the Derby players had experienced problems with a pair of Air Safe shinguards, which he felt were not strong enough. I said that I knew nothing about shinguards but this item had been in their range for 3 years so presumably uhlsport had thoroughly tested it, but would pass on his comments to Reinhard. He said that he found in muddy conditions the 036 were too soft so he would like some 019 gloves in case the weather changes. 1 pair 019 size 9 were sent to him (No.98) at the England hotel where he was staying for the game v Italy. Soon Peter will be bringing out a coaching video and I asked him to keep me informed as I think that I could sell some and he agreed to sign photos for me if required for a special offer.

Reinhard phoned me to ask who was the Wales reserve goalkeeper for their match against West Germany. I said that I did not know but would expect it to be Andy Dibble of Manchester City who is contracted to Sondico. I mentioned Peter Shilton and shinguards, but Peter had already phoned Reinhard about it.

15th November 1989 9.30

Rhys Wilmot, Plymouth, phoned to see if the 036 size 9.5 had arrived yet and I said no. He asked for 2 pairs 015 size 9.5 to be sent to him (No.100) and then as previously requested the 036 to be sent on when available.

I bought and sent to Reinhard this weeks issues of "Shoot" and "Match".

Kevin Pressman, Sheffield Wednesday, phoned to request 2 pairs 036 size 9 and they were sent to him (No.1).

Jim McNamara of Line 7 phoned to say that John Burridge had left a message with his wife to say that he needed some training gear. I told him that John Burridge already asks for goods from both me and Reinhard and should not be short of anything, but if he has a specific request then let me know.

Sammy Chung, Stoke City, phoned to ask for some gloves for Peter Fox and Scott Barrett and 4 pairs 040 size 9 were sent to him (No.2).

Ken Veysey, Torquay United, who buys gloves at the special prices phoned to ask for an uhlsport catalogue and one was sent to him (No.3).

Jim Leighton, Manchester United, phoned to request some goods for training along with a smaller pair of gloves as a Christmas present. 2 pairs 083 size 9.5, 2 pairs 031 size 9.5, 1 pair 031 size 7, 1 glove bag were sent to him (No.4). He also wanted a pair of Air Safe shinguards and I told him that I did not have any but would ask Line 7 to send him a pair.

Having received promotional stock from Germany I was able to send to Rhys Wilmot, Plymouth, 2 pairs 036 size 9.5 (No.5).

I was now able to send to Erik Thorstvedt, Tottenham, 4 pairs 036 size 9.5 (No.6) along with an apology for the delay.

Phil Parkes, West Ham, phoned to request some gloves and 1 pair 036 size 9.5, 1 pair 015 size 9.5, 1 pair 031 size 9.5 were sent to him (No.8).

24th November 1989 10.10-10.19

I phoned Reinhard to tell him that I had received a new price list from Reusch, dated 6th November 1989, and that I would send him a photocopy. Reinhard said that he had spoken to Erik Thorstvedt who was awaiting gloves and I told him that I had sent 4 pairs yesterday as soon as I had received stocks. Reinhard also said that John Burridge had phoned him to order a large quantity of goods. I repeated my thought that I would not send all of it as he gets too much already.

Alan Miller, Arsenal, phoned to request some goods for himself and a youngster at Arsenal, James Will, who is a Scottish Under 16 international. 3 pairs 036 size 9, 1 pair 013 size 9, 1 pair 024 size 9, 1 cap, 2 pairs 040 size 9.5 were sent to him (No.9).



He also asked for a pair of 036 size 10 for John Lukic and I said they were not in stock but would be sent on when available.

Roger Freestone, Chelsea on loan to Swansea, phoned to request some goods and 2 pairs 036 size 9.5, 2 pairs 019 size 9.5, 1 pair 554 trousers XL were sent to him (No.10).

Les Fridge, St.Mirren, phoned to request some goods and a pair of 554 trousers XL were sent to him (No.11). He also asked for a jersey but I said that I did not have any spare at the moment. He has already had several this season and does not wear them in matches so I try to reduce the amount of goods that I send to him.

I phoned Reinhard to order some promotional goods and point out the difficulty in getting some goods and any information from Line 7. This includes an answer for proposed magazine/catalogue, payment of promotional work, information of stock availability etc. etc, all as previously discussed. Reinhard said that he hoped to come to England early in 1990 when hopefully some of these problems can try to be resolved when he meets Herve.
