Having received a delivery of promotional stock, I sent to John Lukic, Leeds, 2 pairs 036 size 10 (No.18). I also told him that uhlsport would like him to attend E.X.S.L. and asked him to let me know if he could visit.

Gerry Peyton, Bournemouth, phoned to request some training gloves and 2 pairs 040 size 10 were posted to him (No.21). He really wanted 057 or 058 gloves and I said that neither were available from me. He also asked about various jerseys and shorts from the 1990-91 uhlsport catalogue, again none of which I had available. He then said that he was thinking about doing goalkeeping courses in Ireland next summer with Pat Bonner. Finally he said that he had still not received the money from the World Cup, although he had phoned Bernd last week. I said that I would mention it the next time I spoke to Bernd.

11th August 1990 1.25
Neil Ramsay, Neville Southall's agent, phoned to ask me where uhlsport were based in Germany as he would be in Germany next week and would like to see them. He said he would send a fax and ask them to meet him at Stuttgart airport. We talked about things in general, especially the clothing range he wants to have produced under Neville Southall's name. I gave my opinions and said that I thought it was the U.K. agent, Line 7, who really ought to be involved as they would be the ones who would have to sell any range, but I did not think they would be very interested as anything which involves spending money, like promoting a new range, does not seem to interest them. He said that if uhlsport were not interested then he felt other companies would be. Regarding E.X.S.L. he said that he would be attending with Neville on Monday 17th September, not the Sunday.
13th August 1990
I received back from Mel Rees, Watford, a signed 1 year goods only contract.
13th August 1990 2.47-3.00
I phoned Bernd regarding several matters. I asked about Gerry Peyton's money, and he said that the money had been transferred some weeks ago. He could not be certain of the date as it was done by a different department. I asked about John Lukic wearing an uhlsport jersey or uhlsport badge on an Umbro jersey, and he was undecided and suggested leaving it to E.X.S.L., when hopefully John Lukic will attend. My feeling is that it is not worth spending money on this, and I do not think John Lukic would do it without money. I then mentioned Neil Ramsay's telephone call to me, and Bernd had just finished speaking to him on the phone so knew the situation. Bernd then asked me about the players being asked to attend E.X.S.L. and I gave him the present situation.
13th August 1990 2.30
Alan Miller, Arsenal, phoned to request some goods and 3 pairs 036 size 9, 3 pairs 040 size 9.5 were sent to him (No.23). He asked if his contract had expired, which it has, and he agreed to another 1 year goods only contract. I sent the contracts to him with the gloves.
14th August 1990 9.05
Theo Snelders, Aberdeen, phoned to request some gloves and 1 pair 043 size 10 was sent to him (No.24). This is the only pair that I had in stock in this style and size.
14th August 1990 11.05
Peter Shilton, Derby, phoned to say that Gerry Summers at the club wanted to buy 15 pairs of uhlsport shinguards. He did not know which style, but Peter has had Air Safe. I said that I could not really help personally but would pass on the details to Line 7 and ask them to contact Mr.Summers to sort it out.
14th August 1990 11.55
Priti from Dundee United phoned to request some goods for Alan Main, and 2 pairs 031 size 9, 2 pairs 036 size 9, 1 pair 554 trousers XL were sent to him (No.25).

15th August 1990 9.15
John Lukic, Leeds, phoned to see if there was any answer about jerseys. I told him that basically the answer was no if he wanted money, but uhlsport had said that if he can visit E.X.S.L. then it can be discussed then. He said that he would also like to start discussing a new contract, his present contract expires in the summer of 1991, and asked if that would also be possible. I said that uhlsport should be at E.X.S.L. so he can ask for himself then. He would try to visit the show and would confirm as soon as possible. He then asked if I could send some gloves to Paul Bradshaw of Peterborough. I said that as this was Division 4 he did not qualify for free goods but as a favour to him I would send him 1 pair 036 sizer 8.5, 1 pair 031 size 8.5 (No.26), along with details of special prices for the future.
